It’s almost 5:30 in the morning, and I am not in bed. Why? Because I napped earlier and woke up around 2:30 a.m. Because my sleeping schedule is all out of wack, thanks to studying for the AP exams.

And people say second-term seniors have it easy.

I’m not even suppose to be blogging right now, but I’ll make an exception because I saw something on CNN.com that just made me giggle like a sleep-deprived maniac:

Guess what that is?

WELL, IF YOU GUESSED 130-MILLION-YEAR-OLD DINO DUNG THEN YOU’VE GUESSED CORRECTLY!

NEW YORK (AP) — A pile of dinosaur dung 130 million years old sold at a New York auction Wednesday for nearly $1,000.

The prehistoric deposit fetched $960, said a spokeswoman for Bonhams New York.

Its pre-auction estimate was $450.

The fossilized dung is from the Jurassic era, the auction house said.

It looks like a rock on the outside and a colorful mineral inside.

Think about it: what if 130 million years from now, in a world infested with cockroaches (EEK!), human poo sells for $1000? Some hybrid human/roach can be all, “It looks like coal on the outside and golden kernels of corn inside!”

Um. Yeah. I’m grossing myself out right now.

The buyer was Steve Tsengas of Fairport Harbor, Ohio.

The 71-year-old owns OurPets, a company that sells products to treat dog and cat waste.

Tsengas bought the dung in hopes of motivating his employees and using it as a marketing tool by displaying it at the company’s booth at trade shows, he said.

“Poop,” he said, “is a big business in the pet industry.”

ROFLMAOO. This is the biggest shout-out to the Poo Pals if I’ve ever seen one.
