And so the first week of NaNo is over!!!

As you can see, I’m only up to 5,731 words as of 10:47 p.m. on November 7th, 2008. Now, ideally, I’m supposed to be at 11,667 words (!!!), according to this hilariously handy NaNoWriMo calendar (it’s going by the 1,667 words-a-day standard). In other words…I’M SO BEHIND! And yet…I have hope! Yes, I do, because I pounded out all those words in a day (last night until about an hour ago)!

Anyway, I’ve got a tough weekend ahead of me all the same, because I still plan on spewing out as many words as I can to boost up my word count. But the thing is I’ve got to do freshman seminar project, English homework, Sociology readings, and study for Monday’s music test/quiz, too! GAH. This is what I get for changing my premise three days into NaNoWriMo.

Le sigh.

I definitely don’t regret going on the retreat, though, because if I hadn’t gone, I wouldn’t have found a premise that I really, truly want to write 50,000 words about.

By the way, here is my author’s page. I’ll be putting up an excerpt and book cover soon. Oh, and the genre isn’t purely fantasy (you can only choose one genre for the author’s page). It’s more of a dystopian novel (think Margaret Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale) with biblical undertones and elements of fantasy and historical fiction mixed in there.

Ciao for now!
